Pants Texture.

Today I textured the pants of my character. It got complicated at times, but in the end I produced this...

I am not 100% happy with the final outcome here, but I am happy enough for now. Further on I will adjust the texture slightly so that it looks more like how I envisioned it.

Shirt.

Today I got my shirt both textured and colored.

I am pretty chuffed with the outcome, it looks like how I envisioned it :D

Additional lips.

Today I also added some lips to my character. I did this because at the moment my character is doing very little movement, and I don't know if I will get marked down for that. So I am also gonna have my characters mouth moving in order to just add more complexity to the characters movement.

UV mapping.

Today I did some more work on my UV mapping. I am getting close to finishing now, so I mainly just need to do the painting and then I will be done with the characters head.

Finished model.

Today I finished by basic model and it turned out better than I expected it to. Now I just need to to the turn-around.

Nearly finished

Over the past week I have continued to tweak my model so that it fits the character design as much as possible. I then smoothed the entire body and duplicated it. It still needs a little more tweaking and I need to also connect the hand to the arm. This is what I have so far...

Hand modeling

Yesterday I tried modeling my hand. I had to watch a few online tutorials to finally get it, but I am satisfied with my final outcome. I, along with a few of my class mates, found the hand to be one of the hardest and most complicated parts of the model. Although I got it finished I still feel that there is lots of room for improvement, but that will eventually come with practice.

Character head.

After I finished some work on the torso I then moved on to doing some development for my characters head. This took me quite a while to understand, but thankfully today's lesson was focused around modeling the head. So I watched the tutorial a couple of times and managed to produce this...

Work on the torso

Today I decided to start work on my torso. All week I have been trying to finish the characters head, but each time ive had to delete the head because I keep messing it up. So now I have been advised to start with the torso which might not be as difficult as a head. This is the progress I have made so far (I obviously still have a lot of stuff I need to work out and fix).

Sculpture for reference.

The other day I sculpted my character out of clay. This is to give us a better idea, so that we have reference and it gives me a better sense of my models 3D dimensions (Note that I'm not a very good sculptor).

Texture and color.

I added some texture and color to my props model the other day. Although it took me quite a while to grasp, I eventually got it and was able to get a better understanding UV and how to use it. Despite this, I have somehow messed up the texture for my bamboo pole and the texture didn't match up (as you can see in the bottom picture).

Bamboo stick (developed) and texture ideas

I spent most of today developing my bamboo stick further, which I was have difficulty with until my class mates gave me some helpful Maya advice. My progress sped up rapidly after this I was able to create this...

... which is a final model that I am quite pleased with. It took me a few practices to get it, but thanks to the feedback I received I was able create this 3D prop that makes me happy and resembles my original design.
With the stand my final prop design looks like this...

My ideas for the texture of the bamboo is something like this...

And my texture idea for the wooden stands is...

3D props (limbo stick and stands)

I have spent the last few days getting familiar with Maya and developing my 3D prop. I have gone with a quite simple design, particularity for the limbo stands which is just a rectangle and a few squares, although the actual stick itself is a little more complicated because it is a bamboo stick and its design has a few bumps. Also the stick has a couple of leaves sticking out of it so that my prop is not too easy and simple.
I am still in the early stages of my 3D modeling but I have managed to practically finish my stand.

Because the two stands replicate each other I just had to copy and paste to get my second stand.

I am now currently working on my bamboo stick.
